At their May 22nd meeting, the City Planning Commission reviewed the draft Scope for the ZAP Environmental Impact Statement. This is the kick-off for the public scoping process required by the NYS Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR). The community will be given 30 days to review and comment on the draft Scope. Comments can be submitted through this website, via the comment form available here.
The draft Scope was formulated using regulatory requirements as well as community input received to date. Upon completion of the scoping process, a final Scope will be provided that outlines the topics and analyses required for the environmental impact statement (EIS), in this case a draft “Generic” EIS, which will be released later this year along with the entire draft Zoning Code and revised draft map. The Generic EIS will describe the proposed changes and explain the purpose and goals behind the draft Zoning Code and Map. It will discuss the potential impacts of changes and how the Code will mitigate the impacts. Community input received over the past couple of years and continuing to be received, will guide the content of the EIS. See the draft Scope for more information.
